ORI TRAINING 2020

4th May to 2nd August 2020: we started the Our Responsibilities Initiative (ORI) Training Program for the year of 2020. We focused on four skills: effective communication, leadership and change management, project management, and social entrepreneurship. There were 28 participants in the training. After completing the training, the trainees were required to do a project in teams that could bring benefits to their community. Four teams were formed to execute four different projects as followed:

  • The Tree of Hope team promoted tree planting in communities in order to reduce global warming and natural disasters. This team planted 100 saplings in Spean Thmor commune, Dangkor district, Phnom Penh. This project continued its mission by planting 20 saplings in the primary school in Kampong Cham province, and later planting 30 saplings in Battambang.

  • The Organic Farma team promoted organic vegetables for the health of consumers, helped find markets for farmers, and helped customers who had difficulty finding real organic vegetables. After completing the training, this team turned into a social enterprise called CFAM that thrives to this day.

  • The University of Battambang (UBB) Team formed and ran two online workshops on confidence building for UBB students, which were trained by Ms. Heng Soth Nisay, Runner Up Winner of Ms. Universe Cambodia 2022 and Ms. Beauty Pageant International 2019, who were also a University Student at the time.

  •  The fourth team, Study material distributions created a fundraising project and successfully brought 350 books, 280 pencils, 150 pens, 150 rulers and some other materials received from donors to distribute to 150 students in Kang Va Primary School, Banteay Meanchey Province.
